Some things do – as we know, ladies – improve with age, and some things are just timeless. I was thinking about some of the things in my life that have been around, well, forever! You know – the kind of stuff that is exactly the same as when we first started using it. I put together my ‘short list’ of tools and items that are firmly rooted in my long-term memory banks! Here’s the short list:
- Egg Cartons
- Eyelash curlers: The manual version virtually unchanged since it first hit the shelve in the early 1900’s
- Kitchenaid Mixers: Some new colors, features, but basically the same workhorse appliance
- Bell’s Turkey Dressing Spices: Still in the same cool little cardboard box with a turkey on the front since 1960, I think! Please don’t change it!
- Fruit pickers: Those little wire baskets on the end of a pole for picking apples and fruit fromk trees? Exactly as I remember them as a kid.
Random list, isn’t it? Seems like the older I get, the more contented it makes me to see this stuff around! The stuff of memories can be strange indeed…
